For students entering grades 5-8

Students will take a culinary adventure around the world as they discover just how different breakfast can look all around the world! They'll leave behind traditional scrambled eggs, pancakes, and bacon for a while as they explore Vietnamese phỏ, Colombian arepas, Turkish menemen, Filipino tapsilog, Swiss muesli, and Burmese mohinga. Each day will focus on a new global region, and the ingredients that make some countries unique. Through the lens of food, students will learn about culture, history, geography, and nutrition. Each class will culminate in students cooking (and tasting!) one iconic breakfast dish from that day's region. Students will receive recipes in order to recreate a diverse set of dishes at home--as well as recommendations for where to find even more exciting breakfast foods at local restaurants. 

For students entering grades 6-8

The Panther Speed & Strength Program is a dynamic summer training opportunity available to all MPA athletes. The 2024 program is seven weeks long and will consist of 21 training sessions beginning on June 11 and ending on August 1 (no events during the first week of July).

All training will take place at Mounds Park Academy using the Kordosky/McGaha Fitness Center, the Lansing Sports Center, and the McKeown Track. Panther Speed and Strength is designed to develop all elements of sport performance including strength, speed, power, conditioning, and mobility as well as to reduce the risk of injury. Our strength and performance coaches, led by Coach Ryther, are committed to providing a safe and effective training environment for all athletes to pursue their goals.

Participants will receive a t-shirt. On the first day, please report to the Lansing Sports Center (Court 1). Athletic clothes and appropriate footwear are required and personal water bottles are highly recommended.

FOR STUDENTS ENTERING GRADES 4-7

In this advanced drawing class designed especially for older kids, we’ll explore the exciting world of Anime! Artists will fine-tune their drawing skills as they master techniques and draw popular characters like Egg Gudetama (Lazy Egg Yolk), Totoro, and more! We’ll even paint our own anime-style self-portraits on real canvas boards. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to fine-tune their drawing skills.

For students entering grades 3 through 8

This day-long golf training camp will allow students to socialize with peers on campus while obtaining a superior golf education. Students will spend the day with a golf professional, and everything needed will be provided (instructional materials, Golf Squad handbook, training equipment, junior golf clubs). Each student will receive a handbook and hat or visor to keep. 

For students entering grades K-6.

This is NOT a project you want your kids doing at home! Send your kids to class to make a tie-dyed shirt that they will wear all summer long. Children must bring their own white t-shirt to class.

For students entering grades 3-6

Get ready to groove at our first ever dance camp! Curated to give your young one an entry level look at what makes dance so exciting; dancers will learn proper dance technique vocabulary, how to execute skills such as kicks and pirouettes, and have the opportunity to perform a fun, upbeat jazz style routine for friends and family at the end of camp! From learning proper body alignment to understanding different dance terms, this camp is designed to help you build a foundation in dance while having a ton of fun. So, put on your dancing shoes and get ready to shine on the dance floor!

For students entering Grades 5-8.

Unlock your child's creativity and passion for gaming at our exciting Bloxels Game Design Camp for Tweens! This interactive and hands-on camp offers an unforgettable experience in the world of game development. Together we'll design our own game characters, levels, enemies, powerups and more then put them to the test as we become our own playtesters to find the fun and build bigger and better. With our expert staff, we'll review and implement clever and imaginative game design skills and techniques together!

Join us at Panther Camp for Young Environmentalist week! Activities will include planting, tending to a garden, nature walks, and natural world scavenger hunts. 

Panther Camp programs are for kids entering grades K through 6 in the fall of 2024. Extended day care, which is free of charge, is available as early as 7:30 AM and as late as 5:30 PM. Lunch is available for an additional fee.
