For MPA Students rising into Grade 5-8

Executive Function (EF) is at the core of everything kids and teens are asked to do each day. Yet, their brains are not fully wired for this kind of sophisticated thinking. In this summer offering, students will learn skills and strategies to improve their planning, organization, and time management to become more independent, attentive, and mindful scholars. Students will feel confident about the new school year having armed themselves with some tools and strategies to tackle these challenges.  

Specific skills will include:

• Planner preparation
• Locker combination/organization
• School supply management
• Assignment prioritization
• Breaking projects into chunks
• Organizing and prioritizing school, home, and extracurricular activities
• Task initiation
• Office 365 and Schoology 
• Notetaking strategies
• Homework strategies
• Communication skills with peers and adults
