Chess had a longstanding reputation for fostering the development of critical thinking skills. Our chess club will start with four weeks of introductory lessons, during which students unfamiliar with the game will learn the basic rules. Students who already know how to play the game will review the rules and receive lessons aimed at developing their understanding of strategy and tactics.

All levels of skill and interest are welcome in chess club, which we hope to see develop into an ongoing, regular offering.
